I couldn’t start my blog without showcasing this beautiful tipi wedding! Fellow wedding supplier Charlotte (check out her amazing cakes here) married the lovely Alex at her parent’s home in Worcestershire in June 2019.
The day began rather wet, which wasn’t ideal for an outdoor ceremony. However, Charlotte bought the sunshine with her, as the rainclouds cleared as soon as she stepped foot on the driveway. The ceremony took place on the lawn, overlooking the surrounding hills and was followed by fizz, canapés and acoustic music in the garden.
The sun continued to shine as guests wandered down in to the next field for a tipi dinner. Charlotte & Alex had DIY’d a lot of their décor using vintage furniture, fresh cut flowers from Stokesy Court Flower Garden and handmade signage. Some of my favourite personal touches were the little bags of dog biscuits for the guest’s four-legged friends back home and the tiny potted plants placed as favours on the tables.
Dessert was rather special. Instead of a bowl of something lovely provided by the caterers, Charlotte & Alex’s family and friends had been following in Mary Berry’s footsteps and created lots of tasty desserts that guests dived into buffet style. This is a fantastic idea for anyone who wants to add a personal twist to their special day and has always worked spectacularly at our client’s weddings.
Following dinner, we were treated to the best Father of the Bride speech ever! Charlotte and her father Dave, along with some of the bridal party, had secretly planned a Greatest Showman flash mob. Dave snuck off to get into character and emerged at the front of the tipi ready to fire everyone up P.T Barnum style! By the time he was halfway through the song, guests were on their feet, singing, smiling and having a fantastic time… it definitely set the tone for the rest of the evening.
In the evening we fired up the fire pits, got the beer pong table set up and ensured everyone had a drink in hand and was ready to party the glorious summers night away.
